Hello All,

Firstly, can I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your incredible support during 2011!!!

It was another busy year- a fabulous Spring Dance Show and Charity Events in aid of Children In Need - Halloween Zumba evening (£60 raised) & Sponsored Dance-a-thon (£810 raised)

Well done everyone & thank you! !

Term Date Information

First children's class of 2012 is on Monday 9th January

2012- VERY EXCITING !

Show Time!!

The Dance Show will take place in mid June at Dingwall Academy.

Further dance show information will be provided in due course

BATD (British Association of Teacher of Dancing) Examinations

Between now and August 2012 I will be introducing the BATD syllabus in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern & Freestyle from Starlite level (pre-school) to Teacher level.  From August children/students will begin working towards examinations. Dance students who do not wish to take examinations may simply progress to the next grade/level once they have attained the required standard.

NB Students will continue to have opportunity to take part in DIA dance shows

In what Class level/grade will my child(ren) be placed?

Overall, the BATD syllabus fits well in to DIA’s existing age related classes. However, inevitably there will be some class changes e.g. each dance discipline class  will run on a half hour basis instead of the current hourly basis (3-5yr classes will remain approximately 40minutes in length)

Further class Information will be provided on an on-going basis.

Uniform Implementation

As a result of the introduction of BATD syllabus/examinations children/students will be required to wear dance wear uniforms to class from August 2012. Uniform garments will be simple and transferable to different dance- class disciplines which will help to keep uniform costs to a minimum. Uniform garments will serve a dual purpose as they will be a staple of dance show costumes. NB (Dance In Action t-shirts & hooded garments will remain a feature

Please refer to the FAQ page. More information will be provided on an ongoing basis

Kind regards,

Ashleigh
